The Joy of Art show at Topsham Public Library is a state-wide celebration of artists and their art—and it is also a many-tiered contest, January 9-February 4 with a reception on January I entered two of my pieces, “Dress Up” (2024, Self-Portrait, pastel) and “I’m Gonna Phoenix” (2005/2025, street grate rubbing with pastel).

Thanks to all who wished me luck! “Dress Up” won in the Drawing category! I found out at the library on January 17th—walked in and saw a blue ribbon and well, there were tears. I’ll just say that. Big thanks to the Friends of Topsham Public Library!

The show is ongoing until February 4th! You can vote for your favorite until then. Maybe “Dress Up” will win again!
